OAKLAND — A person was shot late Tuesday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.

Shortly before 10 p.m., police responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity near 105th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard in the city’s Foothill Square neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they did not initially find a victim but began blocking off lanes to allow investigators to process a possible shooting scene. Soon after, officers learned that a person suffering from a gunshot wound got their own ride to a hospital.

Police did not initially provide details about the victim’s condition, or any associated suspects or vehicles.

For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the injury shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
